We are in the process of changing our name to "Crooked Gap Farm".  We are still the same farm and same farmers - just with a new name! This site will remain active throughout our name change and will be updated with new links as they become available.  Thank you for your patience!

Pastured Pork

At Crooked Gap Farm we believe that pigs should be allowed to be pigs!  With that in mind, we do not confine our pigs in cramped buildings or on concrete.  They are raised outside in the sunshine with access to huts for shelter and farrowing.  They have plenty of room to run and exercise, and they are allowed to graze, root, and wallow.  Our pigs have not been given or fed any antibiotics or hormones, and their custom rations contain no animal proteins.

In addition to raising crosses of pigs bred to thrive on pasture, we also have purebred Hereford hogs, a heritage breed which originated in Iowa and Nebraska. In order to keep "real" meat available and have animals that are hardy enough to survive naturally without antibiotics or hormones, it is important to keep the genetic pool of these great tasting heritage breeds around. You can read more about this heritage breed here on the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy website.

We offer wholes, halves, and individual cuts of our naturally raised pork.  Please look at our Purchase page for ordering.
